Rachel B. WeathersRachel Weathers is a recent graduate of American University in Washington, DC where she received her M.A. in International Peace and Conflict Resolution in which her focus was Applied Conflict Resolution, Training, and Education. Her most recent projects include working with agencies such as Alliance for Peacebuilding, American University’s Dialogue Development Group, Nonviolence International, and 911 SALT.
Rachel was a Research Fellow at Nonviolence International in which her work focused on collecting and editing information for the organization’s education cite and assisting with nonviolence training workshops. As a research consultant Rachel has worked with Alliance for Peacebuilding conducting empirical research for the Annual Symposium on the State of Graduate Education and writing marketing pieces for the organization’s annual conference. Additionally, Ms. Weathers researched and created a workbook for a holistic wellness workshop in Olathe, KS conducted by founder of 911 SALT, Samuel Feemster. Ms. Weathers seeks to continue to work with diverse groups and organizations. She has served as a dialogue facilitator for the Dialogue Development Group under the Diversity and Inclusion Department of American University. She designed and facilitated two seven week dialogue sessions on race, ethnicity, and privilege with groups of 8 and 10 participants. Moreover, Rachel has had significant experience working abroad as she has served as an English and Math teacher for youth in San Pedro de las Huertas, Guatemala. She was also a trainee at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium where she worked under Member of Parliament Statsny of Slovakia. Ms. Weathers is originally from San Diego, CA where she grew up as a military dependent before attending Shaw University in Raleigh, NC where she received her B.A. in International Relations. |
