Dr. Henry L. Allen is Professor of Sociology and Department Chair in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Wheaton College (Il). His long-term research focuses on developing robust mathematical models of the agents, structures, processes, and outcomes related to scientific innovation within societies around the globe. Dr. Allen has published numerous papers on these interests and related topics, culminating in a presentation at the World Congress of Sociology in Yokohama, Japan in July 2014. Across two decades, Hank has served as a senior analyst on national and global higher education issues for the National Education Association, investigating research data from the National Study of Postsecondary Faculty and other sophisticated venues. Allen holds advanced degrees from the University of Chicago.
For seventeen years, Professor Allen has taught criminology at Wheaton College. He has researched many complicated issues related to law enforcement, working with SSA Feemster since August 2003. Also, among varied scientific and professional interests, Dr. Allen has been affiliated with Wolfram Research on a variety of topics related to mathematical and computational modeling of phenomena in the social and behavioral sciences. Other venues include the Kettering Foundation, the American Bible Society, New York Academy of Sciences, Carnegie-Mellon University, the New England Complex Systems Institute, and the Oxford University Round Table. |
